Spring Breakaway

The 2012 Spring Breakaway will be the Branch's first out of state beach retreat, and it's going to be a blast.  Five days and four nights full of great teaching, great music, and tons of fun activities at the beach, condo, and in the city of Orange Beach.  Students will experience things like the Phoenix X's great swimming pool and hot tub, hanging out on the beach, small group reflection on the sermons preached, parasailing, and a host of other great activities.

Location: Phoenix X Condos in Orange Beach, Alabama

Travel: Depart Houston at 6:00am on March 10; Return at 6:00pm on March 14

Cost: $400 (multiple fundraising opportunities will be available)

Registration: Form and $100 deposit due on December 39, 2011

The speaker for Beach Breakaway will be Michael Rodriguez, Student Pastor at First Baptist Church of Andalusia, Alabama.  Michael attended Ouachita Baptist University, where he graduated in 2005 with a degree in Church Music.  Michael later pursued and attained a M.Div. from Southern Baptist Seminary with a concentration in Youth Ministry.  He is currently preparing to pursue his D.Min. from Southern.  Michael has been to Westbury as a small group leader for Disciple Now in both 2010 and 2011, and is excited about the opportunity to ministry through preaching God's Word at the Branch's first Beach Breakaway.

The worship leader for the weekend is Sky Howard.  Sky is the Worship Leader at Jersey Village Baptist Church in Northwest Houston.  Sky also graduated from Ouachita Baptist University.  He and his wife Sarah have been married for about a year now.  Sky is a talented singer and acoustic guitarist, and will bring passionate, intentional worship to Beach Breakaway.
